Registration

  • Sign up for normal Par Point Game through the MGA website
  • Early AM tee times
  • Entry Fee - $25 for the day
    • Standard $20 for Par Point game + $5 for Horse Race
    • $5 Horse Race fee will be charged to your HMGC account
    • Optional Para-Mutual for Horse Race

Who Qualifies

  • Twelve low gross scores and twelve low net scores.  Tie breaker will be score card playoff with lowest gross score starting on 18 and going backwards.
  • IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE HORSE RACE PLEASE INFORM US WHEN YOU TEE OFF.

Horse Race Format

  • Horse race will begin approximately 3 PM
  • Two person teams will be made up from a blind draw.  We will pair one low gross qualifier with one low net qualifier.
  • Pure alternate shot with continuous putting.
  • Handicaps will be calculated by taking 60% of the lowest handicap and 40% of the highest handicap on each team.
  • All play will be from the Blue tees.  Those who are 65+ years old may play from the white tees if they qualified from the white tees.  Handicap Rule 3.5 will be in effect.
  • Two teams will be eliminated from competition on holes #1 through #4
  • One team will be eliminated on hole #5
  • The last three teams will play hole #6 to determine WIN, PLACE and SHOW
  • All ties will be settled by a chip off.  Both team members will chip off.  The closest chip will win the chip off and advance.
  • Pay out will be in HMGC pro shop credit.
  • Payout:
    • 1st Place - 50%
    • 2nd Place - 30%
    • 3rd Place - 20%

JOHNSON and KOUCHOUKOS WIN THE HORSE RACE

Congratulations to EARL JOHNSON and DAVE KOUCHOUKOS on their victory in the MGA Horse Race.  They played steady golf with the goal of making 6 pars in the shoot out.  An absolutely outstanding 15 foot down hill putt on #5 by Dave kept their par streak alive and a tremendous chip on #6 by Earl to save par clinched the victory.  Finishing in second place was Geoff Frankovich and Wayne Delong.  Jody Saylor and Matt Dewolf finished in third place.

There were 58 gentlemen that played in the morning qualifier.  The largest field ever for the Horse Race.  Congratulations to the 24 players that qualified for the shoot out.  The other qualifiers were:
